This super simple, yet delicious plant-based parmesan is the perfect substitute for parmesan cheese! It is made from only 5 wholesome ingredients and can be used in place of parmesan cheese in any recipe. It is perfect sprinkled on pasta, pizza, and salads, stirred into sauces to make them “cheesier”, or added to my amazing vegan ‘meat’balls or veggie burgers for extra flavor.

It does not need to be refrigerated and will last at least a few months on your shelf, so make a big batch of it to keep on hand!

Plant-Based Parmesan

  • ½ cup raw cashews
  • ½ cup raw walnuts
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor or high speed blender and pulse into a fine crumb. Be careful not to over process or you will end up with a cashew/walnut butter! Adjust seasoning to taste. 
  2. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
